Responsibilities

• Develop the concepts, designs, details, BOMs and layouts to meet project requirements.
• Interact with clients and clarify design issues, identify functional problems and suggest resolutions
• Daily production support involving troubleshooting, problem solving and working with the equipment maintenance organization
• Meet with clients to establish the design brief, including the concept, performance and production criteria of company’s products for the automotive industry such as: automatic assembly systems, welding systems, conveyers and measuring systems
• Maintain design schedules.
• Attend meetings for customer review as required.
• Travel to sites as needed
• Consult with outside vendors regarding purchased equipment
• Work and communicate well with all departments as well as outside contractors
• Meet with the contractor and coordinate installing schedules
• Make equipment drawing and flow diagram layout
• Create instruction manuals, meeting reports, and other documents
• Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

• Proficiency in CAD & Solidworks
• Minimum of 5 years of experience with Mechanical Design and Engineering in Tooling.
• Must be able to travel to clients’ site as required
• Must be analytical and detail oriented, problem solving
• Must be able to communicate well and meet deadlines in a fast paced environment
• Proficiency in Microsoft office such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
